Move Forward, Give Back
The Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan has been launched by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. The program aims to provide assured, comprehensive and quality antenatal care, free of cost, universally to all pregnant women on the 9th of every month. Hon’ble Prime Minister of India highlighted the aim and purpose of introducing Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan in the 31st July's (2016) episode of Mann Ki Baat. PMSMA guarantees a minimum package of antenatal care services to women in their 2nd / 3rd trimesters of pregnancy at designated government health facilities.
The program follows a systematic approach for engagement with the private sector which includes motivating private practitioners to volunteer for the campaign; developing strategies for generating awareness and appealing to the private sector to participate in the Abhiyan at government health facilities.
Mine4Nine, a leading brand of stylish and comfortable maternity wear in India, decided to give back to society by participating in this program in the small est possible way. At a government health center in Gurgaon, we distributed fruit packets to around 300 visiting expecting mothers. Fruits are very important during pregnancy as they are a rich source of vitamins. It was a delightful sight to see the sheer smile and joy on the face of these mothers-to-be during a testing and tiring wait at the hospitals. We wish to widen our circle by adopting more hospitals in the near future and are very proud to be associated with the scheme which is helping all those who can not afford private healthcare facilities.
